Re: Gen II, com port
Russ, Thanks for looking at this. There were no java files you mentioned and nothing in my library/java/extensions. As another last resort, I uninstalled everything, emptied the trash and reinstalled, and for whatever reason that worked! I am back in business and very happy to be. I appreciate this ...

Re: Gen II, com port
Thank you for your suggestions, Tom. I've done the complete uninstall, trashing all the folders, emptying the trash, restarting the computer and reinstalling, three times now. Nothing. I still get the error that the ibike needs to use com port 1-64.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Tess

Gen II, com port
Yes, I'm still using a Gen II unit. Works great. As so often happens, I connect the unit to my computer and there's a com port problem, so my computer won't recognize the device. I'm on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. Isaac 1.0.2. NI-VISA 5.1.2. I tried the SI Labs USB driver. I uninstalled NI-VISA...

Re: Gen II, com port problems
Great. iBike 4 has been trashed, iBike 2 is up and working. Still getting "unit not responding" message. Now what can I try?

Re: Gen II, com port problems
Okay, great. I'll go back to iBike 2. No problem. But that's what I was using before and not able to connect. Originally, the problem was not OS. So how do I get iBike 2 to recognize my iBike unit?
I will uninstall 4.0, reinstall 2.0, and go from there... but I've already tried that once...

Re: Gen II, com port problems
Tom, Yes, thanks, very helpful! I trashed the National Instruments folders in Applications and Applications Support. I trashed iBike 2. I downloaded iBike 4 and the USB Driver and installed them. Then I launched the program and got the same error. Hitting the red button doesn't help. Plugging and un...

Gen II, com port problems
I go through this about every 6 months. It's frustrating. Everything's great, then I get the "unit not responding" when I try to download info from my iBike. Usually I can figure it out. This time, nothing seems to work. I'm using a Gen II unit with iBike 2.0. (I can't seem to upgrade to 4...

Re: Wireless Fail
Update. I just spoke with Aaron. As I suspected, my mount went bad, so he's sending me another. You guys have the most amazing customer service! Love that. Can't wait to ride with power again!
Oh, and I saw two Tour finishes while I was in France. Prato Nevoso and Alpe d'Duez. Crazy good!

Wireless Fail
I've been using my iBike successfully for a couple months. Of course, just when I want it most, it seems to have crapped out. I just returned from riding in the French Alps and seeing Le Tour! Lucky me. iBike worked great for 4 days. Then, the last three, for Alpe d'Huez, Galibier, and various other...

Re: COM port missing
I'm a newbie as well and I know virtually nothing. But no one has responded to your post so I thought I would. I, too, have had some com port issues. I've had my iBike for 2 weeks. It was perfect connecting to my computer for a week, and then it wouldn't. Said com port missing or something like that...

Re: Can't retrieve profile info
Is that just for the 4 mile ride? That's all that comes up on the screen. Do the coast downs get saved somewhere so I can import those back in too, or is it irrelevant after the 4 miler?
And thanks so much for your help!

Re: Can't retrieve profile info
I had another post which got loads of great responses. This one, not so much. I've redone my coast downs and 4 mile ride. I've sent the info back to the iBike. I've analyzed some rides with the new profile and attached that profile. Now, what else can I do to ensure that the info doesn't get lost be...

Re: Not registering power
You guys are all amazing and I feel well loved by all the responses. This morning, I put in a new battery, redid the tilt and wind calibration, and then redid the coast downs and 4 mile ride. Power seems to be working well today. My main concern is that for some reason my earlier profile disappeared...

Not registering power
I've had my iBike for about 2 weeks. And suddenly yesterday during the last half of my ride, the power meter stopped registering power. I figured it was that the log was almost full or something. I downloaded and erased all the rides and went out this morning and got almost no readings for over an h...

Can't retrieve profile info
I have an older iBike, from December, and I just discovered the upgrade for the mac. However, now that I've upgraged, my profile info seems to be missing. Can't find it in "Libraries", when I try to download from iBike it says there is no info there. Any recommendations?
