What means CdA off?

Post by Charles »

On the set up screen of my iBike Pro 2 there is an option "CdA - OFF"
I find no reference to this in the users manuals, so what does it mean and what can I do with it?

In the analysis software, detailed analysis there is an option "Second CdA". I found by trial and error that it means that a higher CdA is activated when the velocity drops below a lower limit. Is this correct?

Charles,
The Cda off/on option only works on the iBike Aero Gen 3. It is dead wood in your Pro, sorry.
If is the control to turn on or off the real time (coasting) display of Cda on the Aero.

The 2nd Cda feature in the iBike software allows me to do this:
I did the cal ride on my aero bars (say you in the drops) as the normal position.
Because of the '2nd Cda function" I choose to sit up on and use the hoods position at
(with my choice of speed) 23.3 Kh (I use metric). So in the 2nd Cda I set my Cda about 45%
higher (the difference with my aero that the real time cda shows for hoods/bars) and when
I post process, I get credit in the power curve for working harder in the hoods position. You
can use that too with the pro, just have to discipline yourself to change between your two
preferred positions at some particular road speed for it to mean much.

I think I saw a post from John saying the future firmware will not show Cda off in the setup for the Pro....

Cheers,
Russ
