Power Lower for first mile and Thermal Gradients

Post by Mamil »

2 quick newbe questions -

1. When using my iSportGT, for the first mile or so of my ride, the power numbers displayed are very low. Is this a normal response from the device?

2. On a couple of rides, the power numbers go to zero immediately on descending through a thermal gradient where the temperature drops at least 10 degrees. Is this expected behavior as well?

Thanks!!!

Low wattage for the first 5 minutes indicates a problem with the Cal Ride, or the Tilt calibration.

Do a new tilt calibration, followed immediately by a new cal ride. This should fix this problem.

Let us know if #2 persists after correcting #1.

After redoing the calibration and tilt, the power meter now reads very high (over 1000W) for the first mile or so.

With regard to the second problem, there are still several times when the power shows 0 when pedaling under load.
