Rebut Myself - Good Dash Battery Life, iTouch 3G

My last topic had a negative feel to it, so I'm adding a new topic to rebut myself. I took the word "optional" in Dash documentation, describing external battery use, too literally. I would either not use it, or use it only after the iPod battery was at 20% or below during a ride. I got less than great results. John reminded me to start with both batteries loaded and fully charged. Simple, simple, simple. I have done that for the past few days and now get 6.5 - 8 h of Dash life....certainly long enough for a century, which is really all I could ask for. Relatively speaking, my 3G seems to get less battery life than 4G, and certainly less than the iPhone, but 6-8 hours life is, in my mind, great for my purposes. If I ever need more than 8 h, I could get a 2d spare and use that. So, the initial post expressing concern with battery life...chalk that one up to user error. And John, thanks for your patience and numerous emails.
