I have been reading past posts about post ride auto-adjustment. I always acclimate my I-bike to current temp. and do the wind offset in the garage. To my understanding I should not have to adjust anything after the ride. Is my assumption correct? The question arised from recent rides were my percieved effort was closer to non adjusted rides in strong headwinds and crosswinds. Another question is would I just turn off the wind correction and auto analyis the rest?

The post-ride analysis feature of the iBike 3 software has been "built-in" to the firmware that runs the Gen III iBike. This means that, if you have a Gen III iBike, there is very little difference between pre-and-post analyzed rides. I no longer "analyze" my Gen III rides.

You are correct that the Gen II will give great results if it is carefully calibrated prior to each ride. The tremendous advantage of the Gen III is that it is much less sensitive to calibration errors or inaccuracies.

It sounds like your profile data might be "off". I suggest you do a new set of coast downs.

A moral of the story, I think, is that for those of us for whom the primary attraction of an iBike is for use in conjunction with an ANT+ Sport enabled Powertap, make sure to bring the PowerTap wheel for interval sessions. For real-time CdA assessment, if there's a bit of a calibration error in the iBike, at least optimizing position should result in a comparable position, even if there's a few % error in CdA. For racing, where perhaps it's attractive to bring the light carbon wheels instead of the PowerTap wheel, really be attentive to pre-ride calibration if one plans on modifying one's effort based on the reported power.
