When should you do a cal ride

What specifically determines when I have to do another cal ride.
tilt calibration?
adjustment of the mount?
changes in fast start inputs?

I'm just getting my iSport dialed in and I want to focus on training and feel confident in the numbers.

Thanks

Good questions!

As you have learned, you do the Fast Start, tilt, and Cal Ride as part of the initial setup of your iSport.

As long as you don't "adjust your mount" (that is, move it in any way), you don't have to do any more calibrations.

If you are cycling to help lose weight, then in Fast Start adjust your weight every time your scale says you've dropped 5 pounds.

Other than that, just get out and ride!

Thanks for the reply.
I have read that others will check the tilt based on some marks in their garage.
If the tilt has not changed they are good to go.
If the tilt is off, they will do a tilt calibration.
Does this qualify as an "adjustment to the mount" because something must have moved?
And if so, is it necessary to do a cal ride after a tilt calibration?

If your handlebars are securely fastened to your fork (I hope it is!), and your mount is tightly fastened to your handlebars (it's supposed to be!) then there should be no reason to do a tilt calibration prior to the ride.

Some people do a tilt cal prior to every ride and that's OK. If their tilt is way off (say, the slope number changes by 1%), that means that something has moved (likely the mount) and that means that something isn't correct about the installation.

If the tilt cal is way off, I would try to figure out what was loose, and fix that.

As long as your initial cal ride produced good results, and you do not have something loose in your mount setup, then there is no reason to do a new cal ride after each tilt cal.
