Details Tab

Post by whftherb »

I have a 38 mile ride file completed under a newly established profile installed yesterday just before the ride. On Pg 36 of the software guide (see, I'm actually reading this stuff!) it explains that the Details tab will show a series of buttons. Mine does not. Instead it's showing "Get a Matching Profile" although the correct newly installed profile is sitting right there above the "Get Profile" button. The profile is named/labelled "c-d only: 8/4/08" as I did not rename it as I was installing it in the iBike - I left it as is.

Don't know why my Details tab is missing elements. What do I need to do to correct this?

I had this happen once when I thought I transfered a profile to the iBike and it didn't transfer even though I got an OK message. Take a look at the aero and fric numbers for the profile and take a look at the aero and fric numbers displayed on the iBike. Are they the same?

The other possibility is that you inadvertently made a change to the profile in the computer and clicked Accept. That would make it a different profile even if the change is only slight.

OK good point.

The ride file parms (left hand side of the screen) and the profile parms (as read off the iBike using the software) are perfectly identical. I've had one other problem/issue with being unable to pick off a 4 mi calib ride from within an array of 3 rides which I solved by simply re-doing everything. I wonder if my unit is defective?

The analysis on the detailed tab is only available if you have done a 4-mi ride with your profile. You said your profile name is "c-d only: mm/dd/yy", which is the default name if you create a profile without a 4 mi out & back ride. The 4 mi ride is necessary for calculating a couple of important parameters needed for the analysis: windscaling and riding tilt. (The c-d only option is available for those who what a quick profile but don't plan to post-process their data, which was the way things were back in the days of iBike 1.)

All the analysis buttons would be available if you do c-ds + 4 mi ride.

Well, I'm going to tell ya I did the 4 mi O&B the same day, same hour I did the 6 c-ds. It was 5.6 mi actually and I did a trip reset after it and I did come in the house right away and load the c-ds and 5.6 mi ride in. I got no error or indication otherwise that it did not take save for the labelling which I ignored. Looks like I have to redo it all over. Too bad, I thought I'd done everything correctly according to the instructions.

For the next version of the manual, this labelling indic ought to be pointed out.

Thanks again Travis.
