My Newton recognizes the SPCD sensor but will not read cadence! Is there a way I can get it to work? Or am I destined to replace it with another one...I've used up 3 or 4 sensors since I've started with the iBike Gen 3...What goes wrong with these? The cadence sensor is connected by a wire to the battery compartment....what can go wrong?

Please post a photo of your speed/cadence setup. If the cadence magnet is passing within 1-2 coin widths of the sensor, then it's likely your cable is being damaged somehow.

My setup has been 'set up' for over 2 years and was working...
The magnet is just a bit more than a hair from the sensor....so I'm thinking the same - that somehow the cable was damaged....I just don't understand how it could have gotten damaged...it's in an area that is somewhat protected...
What's interesting is that I did a Cal Ride and it was successful without cadence! So when I was going downhill at 35 mph, and not pedaling, my power was at 595!!
I guess I'll have to get another...
