What's the warranty on a PowerPod?
I was on a ride on Sunday and I noticed my pp had stopped registering a reading on my head unit half way through the ride so I pressed the pp button a few times thinking it might have gone to sleep but I then figure the battery must have run out of charge. No worries I'll charge it when I get home. I put the pp on charge using a mains charger and waited for the red LED to light to show charge in progress .... nothing ...

This is looking like the battery or charging circuit has died.
I received my pp just before Christmas 2015 (I think it was actually Christmas Eve) as I was one of the KickStarter backers for the ANT+ version so it looks like it's failed just before the 1 year period.
What do I do next?
