Calibration issue

Hi all,
I've just purchased a PowerPod and I'm having trouble calibrating it.
I'm using a Garmin Edge 1000 with the cadence sensor & separate speed sensor on the front wheel.
I have everything sync'ed up and my Garmin is identifying the sensor all as expected.
However, when I try and calibrate I'm stuck on 0 watts and this doesn't change. I've followed these steps from another post on here;
1) Make sure you are not within 100 feet of any other bikes that have ANT+ sensors
2) Wake up your bike's speed sensor by spinning the crank and wheel
3) Press-hold the PowerPod button for 4 seconds; this will put it into pairing mode. Its light will flash green
4) After successful pairing the PP light will turn solid green. Then, after a bit of time the PP will go out
5) Click the PP button. It should show solid yellow
6) Do not ride your bike, but instead lift the rear wheel so you can spin it.
7) With your bike not moving down the road, spin your rear wheel. You should see speed in your Garmin window. If you don't see bike speed then something is wrong with your GSC-10
8) After a few seconds of spinning your bike wheel, your PowerPod light should start flashing yellow
When I start riding the light looks like it starts flashing orange/red but stays on 0 (I rode for around 20 minutes). If I press the button whilst riding, the light remains lit for around 10 seconds then changes to flashing again.
Thanks for your help
Chris
