PowerPod mount on handlebar

Post by TommyGun »

Hello,

I am planning on getting a PowerPod that I would use on my regular bike, as well on my winter bike.

I have a question regarding mounting of PowerPod. I would use two separate handlebar mounts (one from the packet and one bought separate). The position of mount is what worries me. If the wind port will get free traveling air.

I am sending photos of both my bikes with red line on it, where handlebar mount would be.

On summer bike there will probably be no problem in spite of lights on the side. Or do you thing that the light is to close from the side? Because of the side wind. Or will the wind port be under the light? It is difficult for me to predict. The light is mostly not even on the bike, but sometimes it is (as I sometimes ride at night). Is that also a problem for PowerPod? Can the surrounding of PP be changed without recalibrating again? In this case, I mean the lights. As you can see, the cables on this bike are not the problem, only occasionally positioning of the lights worry me.

On winter bike, the question is the same. Will the lights be in the way of free traveling air for the PowerPod? On this bike there is also the question of cables in front. Are they in the way, or are they so far in front, that they will not influence air flow?

As I would use two separate mounts I assume that calibration when moving from bike to bike is not necessary?

Thanks for the fast reply and for possible solution if the positioning is problematic.

Best regards,

Robert

I think this should be OK. The only suggestion I would make is to saw off the round tube that holds your light in place, so that the tube is not so close to the PP wind port.

Thanks. The round tube is not a problem, as it can be moved further on the other side of the holder (and other side of PowerPod).

So cables in front on a winter bike are not blocking/messing up the wind flow?

As the lights will be sometimes on the bike, and sometimes off the bike, will that affect the wind, and therefore the configuration of PowerPod? Or it should not be affected?

Cables are no problem. Same with light.

Thanks. I plan to order the PowerPod tomorrow. I hope I will have no problem with it. Does Isac Software come with the PowerPad?
