To make things easy and fast at the track I did following today:
In Isaac software went over Setup Device, used profile 4, and selected "Better Accuracy" instead of "Best accuracy" as I didn't want to go over calibration at the track, we can't have computers at the bars etc (major pain) I'm comparing data between runs, not looking for absolute cda.
In profiles I extracted profile from the device to make sure power meter 39253 and speed/cad sensors 25707 are listed (I manually updated power as it had different power meter listed) then clicked "Send to device", they were listed there. no HR strap.
I disconnected the device from MAC pressed power button 5 times to shut it down, drove to the track.
At the track:
1. I woke power meter, and speed/cadence sensors (confirmed as they properly showed on my 920 Garmin backup watch)
2. pressed power button on aeropod once, lights blinked I have seen orange blinking for a moment (power meter) and red/green (I didn't know why it was blinking green/red but I guess it was ready for calibration? Why???)
3. Turned on my Garmin 1000 and made sure Aeropod 38672 is connected to it, it was. I attached Garmin to my seat post (track rules) did 10min ride, stopped the bike took Garmin 1000 and went to grab something from my bag, lights on aeropod were still blinking.
4. I did 1.5 hours of tests on the bike while light on aeropod was blinking red/green and when connected aero pod at home in turned out no rides to download!
Here is simple question:
How I can set everything at home (pairing of power/speed/Cadence), so when I come to velodrome I just wake up sensors and turn on Aeropod (do I turn on by single power button click?) and start capturing data. I do not want to do calibration or pairing, I do not need calibration and it is absolutely impossible to do pairing at velodrome with 20 people riding around. I do not check/look at Garmin while testing. All I want is to be able to see differences between the runs in software after the ride at home.
I'm going back to velodrome tomorrow, maybe will have more luck.
Wasted full session in velodrome today
Re: Wasted full session in velodrome today
CdA is a very, very sensitive measurement. Users can't shortcut the setup procedure; it is impossible to get good results if the instructions are not followed.
Any time you set up AP, you will need to do a cal ride (the instructions say this). The blinking red/green was because AP was waiting to do a cal ride (the instructions say this).
You will now need to do a cal ride; there is no way around this (the instructions say this).
You have found out the hard way what you can't do; here is what you CAN do:
1) Set up your AP at home.
2) Do a complete cal ride at home. Follow the instructions!
3) IMPORTANT: AFTER THE CAL RIDE, LEAVE AP ON YOUR BIKE. DO NOT "BUMP" IT.
4) Take your AP/bike to the velodrome.
5) At the velodrome, start a new ride. Ride for 5 minutes around the track; AP will auto-correct as needed.
6) Do your testing.
When the instructions are followed everything will work; if not, all bets are off!

thanks for anserw, just to clarify:
3) IMPORTANT: AFTER THE CAL RIDE, LEAVE AP ON YOUR BIKE. DO NOT "BUMP" IT.
Do I turn it off with 5 clicks?
4) Take your AP/bike to the velodrome.
5) At the velodrome, start a new ride. Ride for 5 minutes around the track; AP will auto-correct as needed.
Do I awake all sensors and single click on AP to turn it on? Observe red yellow green for cad/power/speed ? what light should I see before starting the ride?
6) Do your testing.
Since all devices are already detected can I have HR on and AP will still record cda to file?

5) Awaken your sensors, then awaken AP. You will see flashing green until it pairs. If the light goes out before solid green, click again. The light should show solid green, indicating that you're ready to ride. You will need to ride for a few minutes to allow AP to recalibrate on the velodrome. When CdA goes "live" you are ready to test.
6) If you haven't paired HR strap to AP, then no worries
