Apologies for asking this (again?) but what would be the consequences of riding with PP without a cadence sensor? Would it still report power OK or is cadence necessary? My cadence sensor is at best intermittent and at worst now broken... I won't rush to replace it if it's not going to affect the PP measurements - I barely ever look at cadence otherwise.
cheers

I think is necessary, but I'm not sure at 100%. It one of the most important things with speed to calculate power.
I hope somebody can answer you better

Re: PowerPod with no cadence sensor?
For Velocomp power products to work you MUST have an ANT+ speed sensor. Without an ANT speed sensor, power cannot be calculated.
A cadence sensor is OPTIONAL, but without a cadence sensor you may find situations (where you are not pedaling) where watts will show. This is because your PP is not precisely dialed-in. If you don't experience this particular issue in your rides then you definitely can skip the cadence sensor.
One further thing: a cadence sensor IS required if you want to use the PowerStroke feature for measuring pedaling efficiency and economy.

Many thanks John, that makes sense now you say it. Cheers and HNY.
