Okay, set off on a ride today with a PowerPod that I thought was fully charged. It had bee left on charge overnight, and appeared to be charging from the status light (flashing red).
Put the PowerPod on the bike this morning before heading out on a ride, spun the sensors up, powered the PowerPod up, and the status light immediately started flashing red. Odd I thought, but continued on my merry way.
The red light continued to flash until 2hrs 20min into the ride, when it abruptly stopped... as my bike computer lost contact with the PowerPod. So, looks like it ran out of battery.
Got home, and that appears to be the case. On charge at the moment, and it appears to be charging okay again.
So, a couple of questions.
(1) Is there any way of seeing how much battery charge is remaining?
(2) What does a flashing red status light indicate when not connected via USB / charging?

When riding, a flashing red light indicates low battery.
Make sure you fully charge your PP (connect to USB; it will flash red until fully charged, then go out).

I have a PowerPod I purchased from ProBikeKit only 3 months ago.
The battery only lasts for about 4 hours (3 x 1 hour rides + 3 X 20 minute shutdown) before the red light starts flashing.
When I charge the PowerPod, the status light flashes red when charging and extinguishes once fully charged (so I understand).
Is there any way to replace the battery or get a replacement PowerPod?

To BianchiBiker and leewalton, how was your situation fixed? I have exactly the same thing with a new PowerPod. I have e-mailed technical support but I'd be interested in knowing how your battery problems were fixed. Thanks

It looks that I have the same problem. Yesterday I sent a message to Velocomp support and I'm waiting for the answer...
Meanwhile, the battery was charged for 3 hours and today I will check the discharging during a one hour indoor ride (yup, it rains outside).

So, I really don't know if it is a firmware bug or a battery issue. I say this because, before the O&B calibration ride, the PP was charged in the same way (until the red lights was off) and during the ride I seen no blinking red at all. So it seems that the battery was OK, at least for 20 minutes...Yesterday I calibrate the PP with an out&back ride for my second bike. No problem with that!
Today morning I had the following issue.
The PP did not powered up. Yesterday, after downloading the calibration ride it was fully charged (charged until the blinking red light was turned off). Back in the house, I connected the PP to a power source for few seconds. After that, the PP was awake and ready for ride.
Starting the ride, PP show the watts OK. After only 1 minute ride I had to stop to a stop sign for few seconds. Starting to ride again, I saw that the PP is dead. Pushing the button I realized that is not responsive again and, of course, I was unable to powered up.
I got back home again, another connection to a power source (few seconds), again PP was back to life. Led was steady green again so I put my bike on a stand and rotating the cranks I saw that it seems to work. When I stop rotating the cranks, the led started to blink in red (???). Is this a battery issue???
According to manual, I charged until the red light was off (approx. 10-15 minutes every time). Is this enough or I should charge it longer even if the lights are off?
If is not a battery issue, what can I do to start PP to work again when I am in a ride? If I press and hold the button for 10 seconds, the "hard reset" will lost also the calibration?
Not sure if it is important but, as info, I had two profiles in PP. One for winter/indoor training bike (B`twin combo sensor) and, another for the second bike (Bontrager combo sensor).
Today, immediately after a 3 hours charge, the PP was not responsive again. It was back to life only after a 3 seconds connection to my laptop. After that, a 90 minutes indoor ride was OK without any issues.... So, from my point of view, it's more related to a bug that force the PP to become unresponsive until a wake-up connection.
