New calibration ride with same sensors

Post by mattcyclesnyc »

My power pod was paired with the same sensors, but watts stayed at zero on my Garmin Edge 500. I could not get watts to display. How do I reset the power pod and do a new calibration ride with the same sensors that I was using? I tried a hard reset and then tried to get it into calibration mode but the light would just stay steady green and then go out. Power Pod had a full charge.

Likely what has happened is that the rotation of your PP has changed, and it is pointing more "downhill" than it was previously.

Every time you ride with PP, it automatically recalibrates itself at the start of each new ride.

So, you don't have to do anything; just ride for 8 minutes and watts will reappear (the PP will recalibrate itself).

The way to get watts from the very start of each ride is to:

1) Slide PP into its mount

2) insert the GoPro bolt and screw in loosely

3) Gently rotate the PP "skyward" until it hits the mount stop.

4) While holding PP gently in this position, tighten the GoPro bolt so that PP cannot rotate

If you follow this procedure you should get consistent results, every ride.

Ok thanks I will try that. One more question... if I swap the power pod and the same sensors it is already paired with from my road bike to my track bike do i have to do a new calibration or just ride for 8min and the watts will reappear?

Just ride for 8 minutes on your other bike. PP will readjust itself automatically.

So I'm going to do the following: attach power pod, hold down the button til it blinks green, once It shows solid green it is paired and I just ride for the 8min? Is the solid green supposed to stay on for the duration of the ride or will it turn off?

1) Spin your wheel to wake up your speed sensor

2) Click the PP button to turn on your unit

3) Light may flash green, or just show solid green

4) Once light shows solid green, you're ready to ride.

5) Light will turn out after a few seconds, to preserve battery life
