Newton - 2 issues - USB and Cal

Post by whftherb »

New Newton just arrived. Mounted. All-in-one sensors set up. "SPCD Found."

I am unable to get this to connect to the Windows XP PC. It connected one time last week when it came in. Today - nada! Battery at 99%. Here's the precise exact connection sequence I use. See if it agrees with yours:
  • Power up Newton - by pressing any button to awaken - display alive
USB cable already introduced to computer, connect to the port at Newton's bottom
    Fire up Isaac
In Isaac, hit Device > Connect... Testing Connection, please wait > Wait - wait - wait > Silicon Labs USB Cable was found... hit Test Connection > wait - wait - wait > IBike Unit is not responding.
So I have the sequence right, folks? This is what worked for a long time with iAeroIII.

Now, here's maybe a clue: Usually when introducing a USB device, Windows will dong-ding to signal the device is home. No such dong-ding. However, when unplugging I do get a ding-dong. Is this what you see/hear on yours?

And, when the Newton display is on, and I'm pedalling on the repair stand, the bottom screen segment continuously shows Cal (calories). I need cadence. How am I going to get Cal to flip to Cad? I've tried a dozen or so "long presses", short presses, multi-presses to get to the menu to flip it. Could it be that it's only settable via Isaac? (See above).

Thanks, guys and gals.

Make sure you unplug the USB head for the Gen3 unit.

Go to RACR menu. There's a setup for CAD ON or OFF.

1 for 2.

Unplug that dag-gone iAeroIII! What's that doing there anyway...

Racr Menu - shows CAD is on. Still shows Cal on the operating screen. Let me take this out for a real ride. Maybe it needs to see more activity.

Thanks, Fern.
