GETTING HEART RATE FILE IN CYCLINGPEAKS
GETTING HEART RATE FILE IN CYCLINGPEAKS
I have a both wired and wireless setup. Is there any way to get heart rate data from my wireless chest strap with a wired setup? If not can I import JUST heart rate data from my garmin 305 without getting time, distance etc. Thanks. Also, for some reason my cadence is not directly downloading into the cyclingpeaks software. I can import it from the ibike software file though. Thanks
Re: GETTING HEART RATE FILE IN CYCLINGPEAKS
It is recommended to download your data into the iBike software, save your file, and then open the csv file with Cyclingpeaks. If the Garmin produces a file that you can open in excel, then you can copy and paste the heart rate values into the csv file (assuming both have the same rate of recording).

Re: GETTING HEART RATE FILE IN CYCLINGPEAKS
I use my Garmin to get GPS data then marry that up with IB3 data. Unfortunately, I don't think you can do the same thing for HR data. I dunno for sure because I exclusively use the wireless IB.
To get my Garmin data, I use MotionBased Agent to upload the data from Garmin to MB website. Then I go into the MB website and export the ride file. In my case, I always export in GPX format which IB3 can read. In looking (briefly) at a GPX file, looks like it is only date/time stamped listing of speed and lat/long (no HR). You can also export as a HST file and a CRS file. You might try exporting as an HST file then try to marry that up with IB data...if IB will read it I THINK that HST records HR data as well as lat/long speed etc.
Let us know!
[Edit] I just checked and HST files DO contain HR data. So as long as IB3 will "read" an HST file, you are good to go. HST is just an XML formatted file, and since IB3 will read a CSV and a GPX file, I would think it might also read an HST file. Only one way to find out!!
