Wireless cadence sesnsor positioning

Which seems to work better for folks - cadence sensor mounted on top of the chainstay or on the underside? Personally, I think putting it underneath the chainstay looks a little less doofy, but would switch to on top of the chainstay if anyone's had better results that way. Thanks!

It doesn't make a difference as long as you have it close enough to read and far enough away that it doesn't hit...

I like it on the left chainstay, facing downward. This way, just in case something hits it and forces it inward, your crank will just move it back out of the way versus jamming it into the frame.

one little thng:

if you can (i.e. you have a round magnet AND you have a pedal that screws in with an 8 or 10mm hex key, you can silicon glue the magnet in place in the pedal spindle. Looks much nicer than a zip-tie . . . (and it's easy to get the magnet out if you need to remove the pedal).

I've had excellent results using a small piece of 'tub' tape and a sintered magnet for very discrete mounting of the magnet on the inside face of the pedal spindle and it's very easy to remove if you need to. The magnet can easily hold itself in place but the tape adds a little more security.
