Wind data

Post by rid-rider »

I havent been using my ibike for very long and have been trying to figure out the data that gets recorded in and analyzed in the software. There is a graph that shows the wind speed and wheel speed in blue & white. My question is what does this data tell you? If the blue is above the white does that represent when you were pulling and when the white is above the blue represent you being in the draft?

The blue relative to white indicates a tail wind or a head wind.

You would have to have a little more knowledge about your ride regarding drafting. Although you can get a hint from the power readings coupled with wind speed.

Coach Boyd can probably shed more light on this.

Here you go, this video should answer exactly what you're asking. With the wind port, the iBike can let you analyze group rides and races like no other power meter can.

Let me emphasize Boyd's point with an anecdote (because I'm too lazy to do a screengrab).

The iBike's wind-port can not only capture when you're drafting--it can also capture the change in wind when you're passed by a semi.
