Ride filename reports zero miles

Post by kylef »

From the download menu, my ride filenames are being listed as zero miles. ie- the downloads are labeled "iBike_04_14_2010_1759_0_Miles.csv". This is from a ride that was 22.84 miles. This seems to have started very recently, I'm not sure why.

This is using ibike firmware 4.20 and ibike for windows 4.0.3. Any ideas what's going on?

Check your iBike battery - if it is low on volts, you can end up getting smaller files being saved to avoid losing all your ride data. It may be marginally good at the beginning of a ride, but if the voltage is sensed to get too low, the iBike saves the current data for however long you have ridden. If the battery is low enough you may not get anymore.

It's not a low ibike battery. The ibike battery is fresh. Further, the ride was not split like what happens when the battery is low. A single ride was the only download on the ibike. The download did have the complete ride. The oddity is that the download filename was odd, with "0_miles" in the filename.

I have no clue but some questions come to mind.

When you open the file, what is the total miles for the ride?
What is the average and max speed shown as?

Those may be helpful for Velocomp to figure it out if no one has a ready answer.

Total distance as reported in the file is correct-- about 25 miles. Likewise, duration/time is consistent at about 75 minutes total. I don't have the file handy. I've seen this happen about 2-3 times in the past week.

Kyle -

Check and make sure that you have the default file naming and the check box is checked to include distance - find this in the Preferences.
